Years ago you wouldn’t dare drive anywhere without a spare tire. Back in the 50′s when I first started to drive you needed a couple of sets of tires on hand. Summer tires and winter tires and, if you got 25,000 miles out of them you were lucky. Back in the early years of the automobile if you could get 50 miles without a flat tire it was a mile stone. Cars had spare tires and rims on both sides of the vehicle.
So How About Today?
The 2006 Toyota Celica has been created with a design that provides its passengers space and comfort. Its design has a flowing kind of effect that makes you feel at ease and comfortable. This new vehicle has racy lines that are very detailed. These lines provide and exude an aura of a performance that would be high technology. And yes, the 2006 Toyota Celica does not fail this perception. It does deliver superbly. In the automobile market, it is said that this vehicle’s competitors include the Acura RSX, the Honda Civic Si, and the Volkswagen New Beetle.
Upon its introduction, the 2006 Toyota Celica has been made available in several trim levels. These trim levels comprise of the GT and the GT-S. The GT trim level comes equipped with a standard 1.8 liter I4 engine that has the capacity to produce some 140 units of horsepower. It can also achieve 27 mpg for driving in the city and some 33 mpg for highway travails. Made standard for this vehicle is a five speed manual transmission system with overdrive. Given as an option is a four speed automatic transmission system with overdrive.
Cadillac a brand of luxury vehicles and owned by world’s largest automaker, General Motors–maker of popular auto parts like GM bumper brackets, thinks that it has made a winner with its new CTS and would like to expand the CTS franchise by adding wagon and coupe variants. The strategy employed by Cadillac is not different from that employed by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi which build wagon and coupe variants to their entry level sedans. Such move by Cadillac hopefully will make the CTS become more appealing to a much broader range of buyers especially in Europe.
The next question now is: what is to become of Europe’s only Cadillac BLS? The BLS is built based on the versatile Epsilon architecture however compared to the Epsilon, the front-drive BLS lacks the sporty handling and powertrains needed to become a worthy opponent of the BMW 3 Series fighters in Europe. The CTS on the other hand is perceived to be closer to the 5 Series and E-Class in size and most likely to end up competitive in the European market.
A bull bar is a device that is attached to the front of the vehicle which can protect the vehicle and its passengers from a collision with an animal. Depending upon the country, it may also be called a “roo” bar in Australia. The initial name came from the need to protect against hitting cattle, and in Australia from kangaroos.
Early devices were installed only for protection, typically on four-wheel drive vehicles. Now however, these are sometimes used as accessories to give an off the road look to SUVs, trucks and even some sedans.
This year, Swedish automaker Saab celebrates its diamond anniversary. And to commemorate such important event, the Swedish automaker has offered 60th Anniversary Editions of its 9-3 and 9-5 models for the 2007 model year which are already distributed at various dealerships. The 9-3 special editions are available in sedan, wagon (SportCombi), and convertible body styles that get their foundation on the base 2.0T trim. The 9-3 Saab editions are powered by a 2.0-liter 210 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional five-speed automatic.
The Swedish automaker wants to make value of an important part of the 9-3 equation and to accomplish this, the Aero models which are powered by a 2.8 liter turbo V6 with a price of $33,545 were ruled out. Replacing them were the 9-3 Anniversary Editions that are equipped with new five-spoke 17 inch alloy wheels, dark walnut trim, black floor mats with grey binding, premium audio with XM Satellite Radio and a six-disc changer, dual-power front seats, front fog lamps, and black leather sport seats with grey inserts complete with SAAB embossments. In addition, the 9-3 sedan and convertible will get a top-of-the-line GM bumper plus a body-color trunk lid spoiler. The base prices for the 9-3 Anniversary Editions are $28,820 for the sedan, $40,065 for the convertible and $30,065 for the wagon.
