The Federal Government’s
intervention in Aboriginal communities in the Northern
Territory is a welcome development for the women and
children living under the threat of physical and sexual
assault. The Martin Government’s policy paralysis
in this area left the Federal Government with no choice
but to act. Let’s hope the intervention marks
an historic renewal of those Aboriginal communities
currently in the grip of severe dysfunction.
